An Unforgettable Itinerary
South Luangwa National Park
Description
Accommodations

4-6 Nights, 1-2 Camps
On this itinerary, we take you to the remote, northernmost refuge of the South Luangwa National Park. This is where the sweeping Mutanda plains meet the Luangwa River, a hotspot for leopard, lion, wild dog, crocodile and 400 species of bird. A circuit of three intimate camps gives you the option to combine game drives and biking at one lodge with a stay at a walking-only camp where there are no roads or vehicles — here you will follow well-worn elephant and hippo trails, as well as the original footsteps of explorer David Livingstone.

These uniquely situated lodges afford a one-of-a-kind safari adventure in a gloriously pristine corner of the South Luangwa National Park. Run by longtime owners who have pioneered conservation efforts in remote areas of the park, these intimate bush camps host just six guests. Chalets are built of natural reed and thatch. Located on the edge of a large lagoon, water holes, and amidst ebony and acacia forests, the camps afford prime wildlife viewing. A guided biking trip to visit the local community schools and village can also be arranged.
Lower Zambezi National Park
Description
Accommodations

4 Nights
Unlike any other park in Africa, the Lower Zambezi National Park offers a unique river safari experience. Defined by the breathtaking Zambezi River, one the longest and largest in Africa, its multitude of islands afford amazing wildlife viewing, from herds of elephants fording the waters, to Africa’s highest concentration of hippos. There is world-class tiger fishing and sunset river cruises, and while off the water, the wildlife-rich park is known for its majestic winterthorn forests and baobab trees. On this itinerary, you will experience the best of the epic Lower Zambezi in true bush camp style.

Experience a true seasonal bush camp in a secluded area of the Lower Zambezi. These camps stand out for their very personalized touch and owner-operators with a strong commitment to conservation. Located on the banks of the Zambezi River, under the shade of sweeping mahogany and winterthorn trees, the camps have just five luxury tents, each with an ensuite bathroom and classic Zambian bucket shower. This is rustic comfort that harkens back to the best of the original safari experience.
Livingstone and Victoria Falls
Description
Accommodations

2 Nights
One of Africa’s iconic landmarks and one of the world’s Seven Natural Wonders, the Victoria Falls remain as breathtaking as when explorer David Livingstone first laid eyes on them in 1855. We walk through the mist along the Knife Edge Bridge overlooking the primordial gorge, take a boat ride along the top of the falls and lunch at the renowned Elephant Café, an elephant sanctuary and five-star organic farm-to-table dining experience.

After days out on safari, you are welcomed to this very classic Zambian-style lodge with just seven quaint thatched cottages set amongst a lush garden on the banks of the Zambezi River. Each cozy cottage boasts a private veranda, ideal for a relaxing morning coffee. The family-run lodge has a lounge, restaurant, terraced patio, pools and a deck for bird-watching by the river.

Lusaka, Zambia’s capital
Description
Accommodations

2 nights
For a truly complete experience of Zambia, we recommend a stop in the capital of Lusaka. We organize a special behind-the-scenes visit to a baby elephant orphanage just outside the city and take you to an eclectic local art gallery, café and gem shop (Zambia is a major producer of emeralds, amethyst, aquamarine and other gems). There’s also the option to take a guided walk through a local community and learn about the local way of life.

A chic oasis in the bustling city, our art-inspired boutique hotel is a great compliment to our time on safari. Enjoy a delicious meal, relax by the pool or at the spa, or sneak in a gym workout in between the day’s activities.
